The Solution is YOU

Times come and times go,

Law comes and we ever know?

Bill passes and bypasses us

Yet the reluctance will ever show !

Where to start?, how to dig?

Is the problem that much big?

Abuse them and they bemuse us

The cycle completes in a zig !

Systems will come, old and new

Problems will crowd to a bigger queue !

Ask your heart ‘n you will know

None other than, the solution is YOU !

Context: The poem was written keeping in mind the events occurring in the country for a strong Lokpal bill.    Even if such system comes into existence, will it suffice to wash out corruption from its roots? Will it guarantee to make the country 100% corruption free? Not possible even in long run. So things need to get started from ourselves. As Gandhiji says – BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD, a person must change himself and start the fight against corruption from within him. It’s easy to light a candle and walk in the candle march shouting slogans, but its lot more difficult to resist the temptation to offer bribe to govt official in passport office, especially when you have an onsite opportunity waiting for you to complete just the passport formalities!
